A few years ago, the original builder patched this foundation, and it was still under warranty. They came out here; they didn’t epoxy the rebar, they didn’t stop the oxidation and expansion of the rebar, and they just put a patch on it. We came a couple of years later, and the damage is much worse than it was initially. So what we’ve done we pulled that patch off which is already breaking chipping cracking and flaking on here and expose the rebar and did remove a section of this rebar and installed another piece of rebar to take its place because it was just deteriorated too far.

But if you don’t use the proper epoxy to stop the oxidation process of this deal, nothing that you put on here will stay. It’s always going to pop off. It will never work, so you must have the right recipe to do this. What we’ve done here is put our exterior patch on. This is a 6,000 PSI patch material, and we’re allowing it to set up and dry before we bring another coat out. But when we finish this, it will be a smooth, paintable surface that we’ll waterproof with two coats of waterproofing and then one coat of exterior house.
