Professional Concrete Floor Contractor – Concrete Repairman LLC
Floor Leveling, Crack Repair & Concrete Grinding
Before you have any major remodeling project or renovations done to your home you will want to know everything you can about the project.
Hiring the right contractors is important and you want to make sure they are skilled, qualified and have common sense.
Recently we had a customer that had some plumbing work done to their home. On this particular project a new drain had to be installed. In order to do this the plumber needed to cut a path in the floor in order to install the pipes. This involved cutting into the floor in order to install the new pipes.
Sadly this contractor knew little about foundations and cut into a post tension foundation which is the biggest mistake you can make. This could not of been easy, concrete saws are powerful and designed to cut concrete not steel cables.
Post tension foundations have steel cables in them to provide structural integrity and are there for a reason. This contractor should of checked for any stamps before trying to cut into the foundation.
I previewed a property for sale in Glendale and noticed a few floor tiles in the middle of living room were cracked and one was popped. I removed the carpet in the next room to see the foundation and saw a visible crack that was about 0.5 inches wide. Is this a serious problem?
It should be a concern and is not normal. With this type of foundation problem the damage will only continue to spread and get worse. Depending on the extent of damage to the home it could be very costly to repair. If you are considering buying the property you may very well want to have the entire property inspected by an experienced contractor that can tell you what you are looking at in way of total damage and what may need to be done to restore the foundation and flooring in the home you are considering buying.
If you are willing to move forward with the purchase, getting a professional inspection and estimate from a foundation expert will be very helpful in negotiating the final sale price and will save you money having the repairs done by a professional licensed contractor that is an expert in foundation repair. First the surface of the concrete floor needs to be cleaned and prep’d by grinding the surface to expose the concrete. This will remove any surface marks and dirt and will expose the raw concrete and open the floor’s pores so that the floor can then be finished.
After the floor has be prep’d we then apply a primer to seal the floor to prevent damage from appearing in the future. Once the primer is cured we can then seal the floor giving it an attractive and low maintenance appearance.

On one of our foundation repair jobs in Phoenix Arizona, we had to repair the cracks in the floor and level the floor for new flooring. To repair the cracks we first leveled the entire area by grinding the area of the floor that was in need of repair. Once the area was level we were able to fill in the cracks and apply epoxy stitches. This involved channeling out areas along the crack so we could apply epoxy across the crack to add additional strength and prevent the crack from expanding in the future.
